Information I collect

When you contact me

When you use the contact form I collect your name, email address, company or website (optional), the service you are interested in, your budget range (optional) and your message. If you email me or message me on WhatsApp, I receive the details you choose to share.

When you leave a review

When you submit a review I collect your name, email address, rating and review text, and optionally your role, company, the service you received and your website. Your email address is never published. Your name, role, company, rating and review are published only after I approve them, and only with your consent, which you give when submitting the form.

When you comment on the blog

If you leave a comment, WordPress collects the data shown in the comment form plus your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. An anonymised string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it, so your profile picture can be shown next to your comment.

Spam protection

To prevent spam and abuse, the contact and review forms temporarily store a one-way encrypted (hashed) version of your IP address for up to one hour. It cannot be used to identify you and is deleted automatically.

How I use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project.
  • To provide, deliver and support the services you request.
  • To publish your review on this website after approval, if you submitted one.
  • To keep this website secure and free of spam.

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I do not send marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them.

Legal basis

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, I process your information based on your consent (for example when you submit a review), to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (when you send a project enquiry), and for my legitimate interest in running and protecting this website.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set cookies if you choose to save your details when commenting, or if you log in. If analytics or other tools that use cookies are added in the future, this policy will be updated.

Third-party services

To work properly, this website loads some resources from trusted third parties. When this happens, your browser connects to their servers and they may receive your IP address:

  • Google Fonts — to display the website typography.
  • cdnjs (Cloudflare) and jsDelivr — to load the animation and smooth-scrolling scripts.
  • WhatsApp — only if you click a WhatsApp link to chat with me.
  • My email provider — to deliver messages sent through the website forms.

Pages may also include embedded content (for example videos) from other websites, which behaves as if you visited that website directly.

How long I keep your information

Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for normal business records. Reviews remain on the website until you ask me to remove them. Blog comments are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to access, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, to remove your published review, or to withdraw your consent. Just email contact@wasiqkhan.com and I will respond as quickly as possible. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

This website uses secure connections (HTTPS), is kept up to date, and access to submitted information is limited to me. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Advertising

This website and my free tools at tools.wasiqkhan.com use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before ad cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time through the consent message.

Children

This website is intended for businesses and adults. I do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
